The adventure of travelling with children begins!
The holidays are approaching and although we do not know if the weather will be perfect, they are undoubtedly perfect dates to travel, enjoy time with the family and disconnect from daily life.
There are many ideas for the holidays: beach, mountain, travel abroad or get lost in a corner of Spain in a rural house. But we are going to focus on Madrid for all the leisure options it offers and its great possibilities for family travel.
It is a perfect city to have fun in and do all kinds of activities. It is also well connected; you can come by train, by AVE, plane or if you prefer; by car or bus.
Madrid with children!
As you walk through the centre of Madrid you will find the Royal Palace. On Wednesdays, entrance is free and you have access to the official halls and the armoury. If you come to this area by walking through its streets, visit the Plaza Mayor and enjoy a calamari sandwich. It’s a must!
Towards Gran Via are the best musicals of Spain. It is a unique opportunity to see the musical that you have always enjoyed. There are many for children too, such as the Lion King among others, which will delight the little ones.
Nearby, is the Plaza de España and if you walk a little further, you arrive at the Temple del Debod, an Egyptian temple dating back to the 2nd century BC. In addition to appreciating this wonder, you can relax in its park, enjoy the views of Madrid and the beautiful sunset.
Those who love nature will adore Retiro Park. Amongst its flora and fauna, they have performances for children and boat rides on the lake.
Amusement parks in Madrid!
We recommend that you plan your trip, especially if you intend to visit the amusement parks or the Zoo. This way you will avoid queuing.
We begin! The most famous is probably the Warner Park in Madrid. Here you will find adventures for the smaller ones with the popular Warner Brother’s characters and for the older ones, the most exciting attractions.
Another essential is the Parque de Atracciones; a place to spend the whole day without getting bored.
If you want to visit a small city, Micropolix is your place. This is a micro city for children to pretend to be grown-ups. Here they can be a doctor or fireman for the day through educational activities.
If nature is your thing and you want to teach your little ‘animals’, Faunía is ideal. Here you can feed the animals and interact with many of them while walking through the park.
Remember that if you travel with kids you don’t need to carry the extra weight of pushchairs, by renting through Kids & Roll. You can receive it at the hotel and travel light. Kids & Roll provides you with what you need and, in April, we will open a new office near Atocha, allowing you to collect your items, saving money on your trip.
